How I Spent My Summer Vacation…
So, a few months ago, I disappeared. Without any warning. I’m back, and I’m ready to start blogging again. I’m going to start off slow, this is going to be a photo heavy post.
I’ve been spending the last two months in a tent. Next to a creek. Working in a camp kitchen. (It’s just as meaty as it sounds, but, thankfully, I got to make lots of yummy vegan food, and decorate some really fun cakes.)
Fish tank cake for Maria
Pretzel cake for counselor Pretzel. It took probably an hour to get a “z” from a single pretzel.
Vegemite cake for counselor Flik’s 21st birthday.
Robot cake for Henry Giant sun for counselor Sunny
Strawberry flowers for fellow-kitchen crew-member Kiko
Hearts, made of Fruit Roll-Up
A very ferocious dinosaur for counselor Jobie
I didn’t just spend my summer decorating cakes. There were campfires:
There was hiking:
There were bugs (no pictures of those), and there was even a trip or two to Yosemite:
It was a good summer. I’ll be back tomorrow with a really awesome recipe for some mouth-watering cobbler I made at camp.
